The Wednesday evening paddles have been a signature event for the canoeists’ portion of the club going back many, many years. In the last couple of years Kayakers have joined in to make it a great social event for the whole club.
The paddles are open to all club members and the general public. It's a great opportunity to try the sport and to meet new friends. If you have your own boat and all the required safety equipment, just come along and at the pond let us know that you would like to join us for tonight’s paddle.
If you don't have a boat or life jacket but would like to come along, we can probably find you a partner and the necessary gear for the evening. If you are interested contact us and let know who you are and what you will need to come along with us on a Wednesday Evening social paddle.
All paddles will start at 7:00 (Put in) unless notified differently with a meet up at 6:30. Paddles will be approximately an hour-to-hour half. After each paddle, group tends to commander a Tim’s for some social and chat. Paddlers are required to have the following equipment in their boat: must wear own life jacket (PDF), sound signalling device (whistle), bailer (javax bottle is fine), Bouyent heaving line (50' floating rope) and extra paddle would be agood idea. Waivers will be signed at pond. First Aid Kit will be available. Jokes and stories are optional but appreciated. ALWAYS CHECK OUR WEBSITE FOR FINAL DETAILS AND UPDATES.
